ATTEMPT COSTS

Reset vs new prop firm account: compare the full attempt

Compare paid resets, renewal timing and a fresh evaluation purchase. Worked Take Profit Trader and Apex examples explain why sticker prices are incomplete.

A cheaper reset is not automatically the cheaper next attempt. Compare its remaining access period, renewal date, retained offer and rules against the complete terms of a new purchase.

Write down what the reset restores

A reset may restore evaluation balances without changing the subscription's billing date. It need not recover your previous profits, preserve an expired promotion or reset every account restriction. Check whether it applies to an evaluation at all; do not assume a breached funded account has the same option.

Worked example: Take Profit Trader Test 50K

Our Nov 1 snapshot lists the NOFEE40 example at $102 monthly, with a $99 evaluation reset. The reviewed reset policy leaves the renewal date unchanged. The immediate difference is only $3. If a $102 renewal then occurs in the modeled period, the reset plus that renewal costs $201, before other charges. That is not equivalent to purchasing $99 of fresh monthly access.

The alternative new-purchase cost depends on the offer actually available to you. Verify whether NOFEE40 and its activation waiver still apply, whether a new account starts a new billing period and whether multiple attempts are permitted.

Some programs do not offer a reset

The selected Apex EOD Standard listing has a one-time entry fee and a 30-day evaluation expiry. The reviewed option does not offer resets. Its next attempt requires a separate purchase; repeating the entry fee in a calculation should be labeled a new attempt, never a reset or automatic renewal.

A practical decision worksheet

  1. Record today's reset price and the next renewal date.
  2. Count only renewals that actually fall within your intended attempt period.
  3. Check the fresh-account price, duration and promo eligibility.
  4. Add required activation only to the scenario where you pass and activate.
  5. Include taxes and known add-ons separately. Leave unknown charges visible.

When the fee calculator helps

The known-fee calculator can model one subscription with paid resets and renewals. It rejects resets for the selected Apex option. It does not decide whether another attempt is sensible or estimate the likelihood of passing.

If a reset price is unconfirmed, do not use zero. Our MFFU Rapid listing retains that uncertainty. Read the full fee guide for charges outside the entry price.
